Christmas in Our Hometown

Friday and Saturday, December 1st and 2nd 
in Historic Downtown Tunkhannock. 

Friday kicks off with a tree lighting by Santa and Mrs. Claus at Peoples Security Bank, Tioga Street a little after 5pm with a live broadcast by WBRE-TV. Then the evening kicks off with Horse and Wagon rides, Trolley rides, Ice Carvings, entertainment, and Living Windows and other entertainment.

Additionally, various organizations and businesses throughout the area will be on hand to provide treats and beverages at no cost.

Friday Schedule

5 pm – Tree Lighting -Peoples Security Bank with Santa and Mrs. Claus broadcast live during the 5pm WBRE-TV evening news. Evening continues with Cookie Walk at the Dietrich Theater, free Horse and Wagon rides, Trolley rides, Ice Carving at Bridge Street Marketplace, Living Windows entertainment by Whipples Dance Studio, and a Living Nativity at the side of the Dietrich at 7:30pm.

Dietrich Theater Free showing of Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas at 5:30 and 7pm, plus free popcorn, sponsored by Ace Robbins, Inc. Keystone Konfections outdoor activities: Hot Chocolate Bar, Live Music Friday Night, kids activities- chocolate dipped pretzels and snowflake making, cupcake mascot will be posing for photos printed on-site as well as specials within the bakery.

Ebb’s Candy Jar - Featuring a "Charlie Brown Christmas", with  some additional holiday themed areas “Christmas on the Veranda”, “The Garden Room”, “The Rustic Area” and the front gate is going to be a "Putz" House, also a tree decorated with hats, mittens, and gloves. Find a piece of Christmas Spirit!

8am   Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair and Breakfast with Santa,

          Roslund Elementary School, 99 Digger Drive, Tunkhannock

9am    United Way Reindeer Run

          8:30 Registration, 200 Franklin Ave., Tunkhannock Middle School

11am  Pet Parade, sponsored by Endless Mountains Veterinary Center

          Meet at the corner of Tioga and Warren, near Twigs Restaurant

11am  Keystone Konfections – outdoor activities including: Gourmet Hot Chocolate Bar,  Kids activities including chocolate dipped pretzels and snowflake making, Giveaways, cupcake mascot will be posing for photos printed on-site as well as specials within the bakery.
